I’ve been blogging for as long as I have been able to hold a coherant thought and a pen at the same time. I have very little memento’s from my childhood but I have vivid memories of sitting on the bow of our yacht as we plowed through the waves on the Straight of Juan de Fuca heading out into the unknown. I remember the little books I would write in and the silly little pens I would use covered in ladybugs and turtles, and I remember writing down anything that would come to mind. It’s interesting to me now to recall how free I would feel even in just those moments… I wonder if I write as often as I do just to bring myself back to that emotion.
In the last five years or so I have found myself behind a camera more often than not. My computer fills up every few months with thousands of pictures of everything and nothing all at once. Memories captured with my lens so in the future I cannot forget a single moment. Feeling fortunate and blessed to be surrounded by so many different people and personalities over the years, some fleeting and some forever.

i cut off our online chat just before 7pm to shave my legs and clean my house, its now 9:25pm, and i haven’t done a thing besides read your words and see your pictures….i was about to say i accomplished nothing…then i realized, that i feel like i know a lot more about a friend than i ever planned on, and in that case, have actually accomplished something grand! i will be learning about you regularly Bean, keep this thing updated, especially when you’re off scuba diving and up to all sorts of shenanigans in that crazy tire-clustered boat! so excited for you! see you soon!
