and they are the house band at Nyala on Main and 25th in Vancouver, BC EVERY Wednesday! The band has some ridiculously talented musicians, experts on sass, and a stunning lead singer who will knock your socks right off when she opens her mouth to belt out the tunes. Al’s mom Shirley was an Olympic torch bearer yesterday in Richmond. Man, not very much about the Olympic’sI am sad to miss but I do wish I could have seen the lookon her face afterwards. An extremely cool lifetime experience for the Blair family!!! Yay Shirley!

sleepovers were one of the best things about being a kid
i don’t have to go into it
you remember making forts
maybe sneaking out to smoke pot or whatever
meeting in the park and hanging out in the night
hahaha
guess what?
you can do all that now and there ain’t no sneakin around!

we’re adults and we have our own places
sometimes you get your own room and bathroom and it’s like the comforts of home on the road
and best is
in the morning you can start the day off with some amazing beautiful friends
smoke a j, drink coffee and baileys
leisurely eat a stellar breakfast
and then watch a movie in pj’s
think about it
when we hang out with good friends and go all out, we’re mostly trying everything we can to spend the whole night with them – you stay up late partying, sometimes even watching the sun rise
or you go camping, and spend the day and night with your closest friends
inadverdantly, we’re recreating sleepover magic
fun all night
being on the same wave-length in the morning doesn’t take much effort – it’s an extension of the good times
and being comfy to just be your laziest
better yet, you do this with good friends and you’re not even a guest
it’s like you’re just part of the family
you can go get yourself a drink and not be waited upon
it’s no problem to say, hey i’m hungry or even to just snuggle down on the couch and make yourself absolutely comfortable
anyways,
i guess you know what i did last night”

She has a point! I have been talking about how excited I am to get a new sofabed when I come back. Sleepovers are on, bitch!
